This iconic festival honours Guru Rinpoche through mesmerising mask dances performed at the historic Rinpung Dzong, invoking deities to dispel misfortune and defeat evil spirits.
Witness the colourful celebration including the dramatic Dance of the Black Hats, the rhythmic Dance of the Drums from Drametse, and the profound Shingje Yab Yum. Thousands gather, dressed in their finest, to seek blessings, gain merit, and celebrate Bhutan’s enduring Buddhist traditions in a joyous display of faith and community.
Note: To fully embrace the vibrant festivities and receive the festival’s delightful blessings, plan your tour to begin before 5th April. This ensures at least one full day of immersion in the limitless joy, cultural richness, and spiritual significance of the Paro Tshechu.
